1. USE OF THE RESPIRATOR

1.1 GENERAL

The reusable particulate respirator does not exempt the user from the application of the respiratory recommendations (covering the mouth when sneezing or coughing, coughing in the flexion of the elbow, etc.) complemented by the social distancing measures that are essential in accordance with the recommendations indicated by the National government.

For the respirator be effective it must be used correctly as indicated below.

1.2 PLACING THE RESPIRATOR

It is recommended to place the respirator on bare skin (that is, without the presence of hair in contact with the wearer’s skin and, for some people, shaved skin) and observe the following steps:

  1. 1Wash hands with soap and water or rub with a hydroalcoholic solution before handling the respirator.
  2. Position the respirator on the face, at the level of the nose.
  3. Hold the respirator from the outside and fasten the head harness behind the same or on both sides of the ears, without crossing them.
  4. Verify that the respirator covers the chin.
  5. Verify that the respirator is fitted correctly. For this it is necessary to verify the sealing and the absence of respiratory discomfort.

Once fitted, do not touch the mask with your hands. If the user needs to touch the mask, they must first wash their hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution.

1.3 REMOVING THE RESPIRATOR

To avoid contamination when removing the respirator, the following steps should be taken:

  1. Take off protective gloves;
  2. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution;
  3. Remove the respirator without touching its front part;
  4. If the respirator is to be reused, see section 1.4.
  5. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution.

1.4 WASHING AND DRYING THE RESPIRATOR

The respirator must be hand washed. Before starting, the filter must be removed, see section 1.5.

  • It is recommended to dissolve all the detergent before putting on the respirator and wash at a temperature of 60 degrees C or higher (warm or hot water). It can be disinfected with steam.
  • Can be scrubbed with a clean sponge or brush.
  • Dry with a clean cloth.It is recommended that the respirator be completely dry before use, wait around 30 minutes after washing.
  • It should not be dried or sanitized with a microwave oven.
  • Both during drying and subsequent storage of the respirator, environments in which it can be recontaminated should be avoided.

1.5 USE OF FILTERS

Replacement filters or filter elements are disposable and therefore cannot be washed.

It is recommended to replace the filter every week, that is, use 1 filter per week.

To replace the filter, follow these steps:

  1. To replace the used filter, you must open the breather cap.
  2. Place the filter back in the middle of the two pieces. Make sure it is well placed, certifying that there are no kinks. Note: the filter element has a front and a back side. Insert the side of the pore filter towards the mouth.
  3. Then close the lid by reassembling the respirator.
  4. Take the adjustable headband and place it on each side of the respirator.
  5. The headband is adjustable. You can adjust it to fit your head size.

1.7 GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE

During the period of use, the respirator can only be removed by following the instructions detailed in section 1.3.

The use of the reusable respirator is recommended every day, replacing the disposable filter weekly.

The respirator should not be used if it is dirty or wet.

During or after use, it is not recommended to place in a waiting position on the forehead or under the chin.
